Dissizit x Dez collab tee with DISSIZIT! MIXTAPE VOL. 2 by PHOREYZ

So, last night I’m in Georgetown and stop into MAJOR and find this nice large print tee of a monster about to devour a blonde chick eating a cartoon banana by LA based brand DISSIZIT!. I buy one in medium, only to discover when I got home that my tee came with a CD! The tee is a collaboration with Dez Einswell, and the artwork is the cover of the Limited Edition mixtape from DJ PHOREYZ.

So, as I’m trying on my shirt (it fits), I pop in the CD, and I am pleased with what I heard. The mix is a quality blend of Hip-Hop and Rock, blending the old with the new, and for the most part transitions are seamless and blend very well. Hip-Hop tracks include music from Jay-Z, DJ Krush, Common, Nas, Ghostface, Viktor Vaughn, and more. Rock tracks include Tool, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Oasis, White Stripes, Radiohead and more. I can only think of one track that probably didn’t blend well with the vibe this mix set except for when it was mixed out of, and that was Deftones – Be Quiet and Drive (far away). (and I love Deftones). Otherwise, I liked what I heard.

Most of the tracks are really easily accessible, and most likely heard before with the exception of a few exclusives, but nevertheless this mix is worth a listen. I’ve already put it into my iPhone for easy access.
